Who the hell is Joki?
Oh, that's easy to explain! - I'm nice & intelligent!
But I hope that some of you would like to know more about me!
Lets start at the beginning! Im a Schwäbisch guy. Does anybody knows what that means? - No! - I was born in Stuttgart which is in the middle of the country which is called Schwabaländle". But thats approximately 30 years ago. - I know its unbelievable - but its right. I was born in 1967 on the 20th of October in Stuttgart, Germany.
Stuttgart (GER)
The next 20 years I stayed around Stuttgart in a small nice town
that is called Gerlingen. But after finishing school I was interested to
see whats going on around Stuttgart - and so I started my global adventure
trip in Munich!
Munich (GER)
- Thats a nice town! - And so I stayed there for 6 years and studied electrical
engineering. Oh yeah, that was an interesting time! - I was living in one
of the biggest students villages of Europe - 2500 students were living
in this village. And what are 2500 Students doing if they are living at
the same place? - Right talking and having fun! So you will understand
that there was not enough time for my studies. But that's not all: In addition
to my studies I was doing some culture management for student theater groups.
I only tell you this because many of you will think that electrical engineers
cant be creative - but thats not correct! - Anyway after some time I
decided that I would like to earn some more money and so I finished the
University after 5 years w/ a masters degree in Electrical Engineering
/ Automation.
But - what should I do know? - I liked to combine my automation skills w/ my electrical interests - and so I started to work for the semiconductors industry as Automation Engineer. - And thats what I am right now!
Landshut (GER)
- That was the next step on my global adventure trip! - That's a
nice historical town 70 km notheast of Munich. I was working there
in a Japanese company which are producing Semiconductors as Automation
Engineer. And there I've got the chance to do my next step of my adventure
trip around the world:
Tokio (JPN)
- Not that I could stay there long! - I stayed there only 1 month.
But it was a very interesting time to talk and work together w/ people
that were living in a competly different cultural area.
Austin (USA)
- And after 3 years I changed again. Since 3/1/97 I've changed the
company but I'm working again for the Semiconductors industry as Automation
Engineer. But now on the other side of the globus. And I like it. Here
you have all the good things combined: Culture, nice weather, good food
and an interesting work! - What would you like to have more? - I will stay
here until the end of this year - and then I will move to
Dresden (GER)
- and this will be the next step of my adventure trip. . . .
In my free time
I like to do all the things which make fun! - Yes thats a simple explanation
- but thats it! I like to do all the things which are outside in the nature.
Skiing
Since Im 4 years old Im standing on skis. In the last 8 years
I started to do cross-country skiing. I put some furs under my ski and
climb up the mountains. Thats a very silent and power-consuming way of
skiing - but if you have reached the top of a mountain you will have a
great feeling.
Inline Skating
Then half a year ago I started Inline Skating. Im not an expert
right now. But I like to roll on the road with this nice and free feeling.
Austin is a great place to do Inline Skating. Its not cold in the evening
- and there are loops which are prepared for Inline Skater.
Piano Playing
What else do I do? - Oh yes in my free time Im playing piano! -
Not so much in the US because both of my pianos are standing in Germany.
Maybe I should look for an instrument which is easier to transport!
Thats it for now!
